Why We Built This Site
West Virginia does not place every part of a criminal history in one public name search. Cabell County court files, deputy reports, Western Regional Jail entries, and fingerprint-indexed state histories have different custodians and access rules. Even offices inside the Cabell County Courthouse serve different roles. We organized the verified contacts, official search tools, fees that could be confirmed, and request paths so a reader can distinguish a court disposition from a booking entry or police narrative.
What You Will Find Here
- Agency contacts: verified routes to the Cabell County Sheriff, court clerks, Western Regional Jail, and statewide offices
- Record guides: ways to search and read Cabell County criminal court cases
- Personal record review: the fingerprint process used by the West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau
- Record relief: where Cabell County expungement petitions begin and why an order controls public access
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not part of a West Virginia court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:
- We do not issue certified court files, police reports, or fingerprint histories
- We cannot submit a Cabell County records request or expungement petition for a reader
- We do not run official criminal-history checks for any person
- We cannot interpret a charge, warrant, or court order as legal advice
- We cannot promise that an agency has not changed a fee, phone number, or office hour
An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the Cabell County court clerk, the creating police agency, WVDCR, or the West Virginia State Police.
Search Partners
Search boxes on some pages are supplied by independent providers. Those providers operate their own products, choose their prices, and control the material returned. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral payment that supports the site's operation. We neither set the provider's fee nor determine its results. For a certified or current answer, readers should use the originating Cabell County or West Virginia office.
