Cabell Sex Offender Neighborhood Search
The neighborhood tool accepts a street address, city, five-digit ZIP code, radius, and county. Radius choices run from one to 25 miles. It is useful for community awareness near a home, school route, park, or family destination, but a circle on a map does not measure a person's risk.
West Virginia Article 15-12 did not reveal a statewide general school or park distance restriction during the official research sweep. Do not turn proximity alone into a claim that an address is unlawful. The registry publishes information under W. Va. Code §15-12-5, while residence duties and any case-specific limits require the proper legal record.
What a Registry Profile Shows
An anonymized Cabell profile displayed a photo, physical description, residence, property, work and school location fields, offense details, and a last-modified date. The exact set varies. The inspected profile did not show a tier label, vehicle table, aliases, scars or tattoos, statute code, or explicit compliance label. Those fields should not be promised on every result.

Correcting Cabell Registry Information
If an address or other registry fact looks wrong, send the information to WVSP. The portal's Submit a Tip form asks for email, subject, required description, an optional OffenderSID, and CAPTCHA. Registrants pay a statutory annual fee of $125. Public searches remain free. The statute collects more data than every public profile displays, including fingerprints, vehicles, Internet identities, phones, and identification documents.
Every registrant reports during the month of birth. A sexually violent predator has the added January, April, July, and October schedule, with address checks every 90 days. In-person registration office
The Cabell County Sheriff's Office is not the registry operator, and Western Regional Jail is a custody facility rather than a registry counter. Likewise, the Cabell court directory routes users to criminal case files, not WVSP profiles. These local offices may hold related arrest, custody, or court records, but each record must be requested from its own custodian.

Cabell Registry Data Limits
West Virginia law requires collection of a broad set of registration facts. These can include aliases, residences and regularly visited property, work or school information, a full-face photo, offense description, fingerprints and palm prints, vehicles, Internet identities, phone numbers, government identification, passport or immigration data, professional licenses, and unmanned aerial vehicle information. Collection does not mean every field appears on the public Cabell profile.
The public interface in the inspected sample showed only part of that inventory. Read what the profile actually displays rather than assuming a missing vehicle, alias, or status field means none exists. For public awareness, the visible residence, physical description, offense narrative, and last-modified date are the most useful matching points. Questions about undisplayed or corrected data belong with WVSP, subject to the dissemination limits in West Virginia law.

The WVSP registry is the authoritative layer for West Virginia detail. The Department of Justice National Sex Offender Public Website, or NSOPW, searches participating jurisdictions when a person or location may cross a state line.
Use a national match to identify the reporting jurisdiction, then confirm the profile in that jurisdiction's official registry.
A federal inmate result answers a different question. The Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator concerns federal custody, not Cabell registry status.
A person can be absent from federal custody yet remain subject to state registration, so the two systems must not be treated as substitutes.
Lawful Use and Community Notification
Public registry information supports personal, family, and community awareness. It can help a reader plan a route, understand a listed address, or share accurate official information with the proper authorities.
